Sammy Leary @ The Barebone Acoustic Folk Club

Sammy Leary lives in Tāmaki Makaurau and now has a long history of performing around Auckland city as well as sometimes further abroad, both by his lonesome and within various groups. Sammy performs mainly traditional folk music, as well as music written within the style of the tradition, mostly with strong connections to the history of Aotearoa but not excluding the occasional song from the Irish, British and American folk traditions. Audiences can expect to hear instruments such as banjos, guitar, concertinas, bones and every now and then a musical saw.
Sammy loves to get an audience involved in his performance so if you’re coming along don’t forget to bring your singing voices and pick up a chorus or two.
