If you are a loyal fan\, you are still in for a treat\, because they have a whole lot of new exciting songs. \nFloor spots in the first half \nThere is a gate controlling vehicular access to Mt Victoria. SUMMARY:Brenda Liddiard @ Rafters Music Club
DESCRIPTION:Brenda has been writing songs and playing guitar and mandolin since the 1970s. She was born and grew up near London (UK)\, but moved to Australia in 1974\, where she was passionately involved in the environment and anti-nuclear movements\, finding her voice as a writer and performer of protest and campaign songs. Some of these songs have been covered by other artists\, or have appeared in documentary movie soundtracks\, and in the true folk tradition\, they continue to be adapted by new singers\, for different campaigns around Australia.Since moving to New Zealand in 1986\, and meeting her husband\, Mark Laurent\, they have performed regularly together\, touring throughout the country\, and in Australia and the UK\, recording many albums and appearing on radio and TV.Her solo album\, Box of Memories\, was a finalist for the New Zealand Music Awards Best Folk Album in 2013.\n \n“Heart-warming\, heart-centred and heartfelt music sung with truth\, humour\, simplicity\, beauty and authenticity. Brenda says as much\, if not more\, by what she doesn’t say\, as she weaves life-stories that invite you to fill in the gaps with your own experiences.”\nMaria Monet\n\nProgrammeThe first half of the evening brings musicians old and new to warm us up before supper and our main guest/s. We welcome new performers. See Graham at the door if you want to perform\, but you will need to be there before the 8pm start.

SUMMARY:Hearth @ The Tuning Fork
DESCRIPTION:After more than a year abroad\, Hearth returns home to Aotearoa celebrating their debut single “Not Gonna Leave You\,” out May 20\, 2026. Years in the making\, this long-awaited release marks a new chapter\, rising at last from the ashes. For their Tāmaki Makaurau stop\, Hearth will be joined onstage by Clara van Wel and Evie Bamford. \nHearth is a theatrical whirlwind of sugar and salt from Te Whanganui-a-Tara\, Aotearoa. Organic\, dynamic\, and heartfelt\, their songs explore love\, lust\, laughter\, and loss with a lyrical honesty that draws listeners in close. Blending elements of folk\, rock\, country\, and jazz\, Hearth creates a sound that is both playful and deeply true\, equal parts cheek and catharsis. Known for their captivating arrangements and expressive delivery\, Hearth balances wit and sincerity with ease. What they lack in seriousness between songs\, they make up for in moments of striking emotional clarity\, weaving stories that linger long after the final note. Since first emerging in 2021\, Hearth has grown and evolved across a range of live settings\, both solo and with a band. They have performed throughout Aotearoa at festivals including CubaDupa\, Newtown Festival\, Twisted Frequency\, Welcome to Nowhere\, and Great Sounds Great. They have also supported artists such as Frank Turner and Avalanche City\, alongside a string of headline shows in Te Whanganui-a-Tara. Warm\, whimsical\, and slightly unhinged\, Hearth invites you into their flickering glow. Welcome to the fireside. \n

DESCRIPTION:Folk duo Mema and Nathan Boston delivers an exceptional music experience that you will feel at your very core as this is where they express from. They focus on acoustic arrangements of Mema’s original works with the odd quirky cover all delivered with the sincerest of love for sharing their craft. Musically\, it’s kinda like The Rescues formed a love triangle with Leonard Cohen and Andres Segovia. It is a most delicious blend of quirky beauty that will make you laugh and probably cry in the same night. Expect soaring vocals with carefully placed guitars supporting poetic lyrics in the sincerest of love for sharing music with you. \nDoors open at 6:45. Floor singers first half.

SUMMARY:Rainberry Pie @ The Bunker
DESCRIPTION:The core of Rainberry Pie is the sometimes edgy\, sometimes dulcet\, and always enchanting vocal harmonies of Deborah Mackenzie and Micheal Young. The vocals are backed up by a well defined acoustic instrumental groove. Not willing to be constrained to a narrow genre\, Rainberry Pie explores many acoustic styles from alt-country\, western swing\, bluegrass\, and pop\, all while maintaining a cohesive and distinctive Rainberry sound. Deborah plays percussion. Micheal plays guitar. David Blackman provides tasty fills on fiddle and mandolin while Cathy Dyer lays down a solid foundation on double bass.\n\n\nThere will be floor singers in the first half of the night. Rainberry Pie will perform in the second half.
