Seun has spent most of his life preserving and extending his father’s political and musical legacy as the leader of his father’s former band Egypt 80. As a developing saxophonist and percussionist\, he entered the formal ranks of the band before he was 12. He also released numerous EPs. In 2022\, Seun Kuti joined forces with Roots frontman and MC extraordinaire Black Thought in the EP ‘African Dreams’. In 2023\, he collaborated on Janelle Monae’s ‘The Age of Pleasure’ (Grammy nominee for Album Of The Year) with the two singles ‘Float’; and ‘Knows Better’;\, teamed up with Talib Kweli and MadLib for their album‘Liberation 2’ on the song ‘Nat Turner’ featuring Cassper Nyovest and released a new version of the single ‘Bad Man Lighter’ with Black Thought\, featuring Vic Mensa. \nSeun Kuti has started a side project\, which looks to Afrobeats music\, with his alter ego BigBird\, together with Nigerian rapper Vector\, releasing the singles “OOP (S)” with Odumodublvck and “The Matter”

SUMMARY:Rainberry Pie @ The Bunker
DESCRIPTION:The core of Rainberry Pie is the sometimes edgy\, sometimes dulcet\, and always enchanting vocal harmonies of Deborah Mackenzie and Micheal Young. The vocals are backed up by a well defined acoustic instrumental groove. Not willing to be constrained to a narrow genre\, Rainberry Pie explores many acoustic styles from alt-country\, western swing\, bluegrass\, and pop\, all while maintaining a cohesive and distinctive Rainberry sound. Deborah plays percussion. Micheal plays guitar. David Blackman provides tasty fills on fiddle and mandolin while Cathy Dyer lays down a solid foundation on double bass.\n\n\nThere will be floor singers in the first half of the night. Rainberry Pie will perform in the second half.
