DESCRIPTION:COME AND BE PART OF A NEW KIND OF LIVE EVENT!\n\nThe LIVE&LENS SESSIONS at Parao Brewing Co. in Whangaparaoa are a new kind of live event. Not just a gig\, not just a showcase\, but a live happening that we capture on film for the benefit of the artists\, to help them with their own promotion. It’s a chance to support artists you like and/ or love\, to see new acts\, support local talent\, and live entertainment generally. We’re keeping the cost of entry to a minimum because this is what pays the fixed costs of producing the event – the filming\, sound and lights. The acts get the live AV\, and everyone has a great time.\n\nOur first LIVE&LENS SESSION FEATURES:\n\nSonia & Nigel (Sonia Wilson and Nigel Gavin) are a soulful acoustic duo rooted in Aotearoa’s folk traditions. Known and loved all over New Zealand and beyond\, this appearance marks the start of their Nationwide tour.\nSonia’s honeyed French-American vocals and ukulele blend with Nigel’s masterful 7-string guitar—touching blues\, jazz\, and porch-side magic—to create music that’s earthy and quietly virtuosic. Their songs explore travel\, nature\, and connection\, delivered with warm harmonies from festival stages to living rooms.\n\nDirt Road Orchestra is a six-piece acoustic ensemble steeped in British and Celtic folk\, with a New Zealand twist. Led by songwriter Andy Hamilton\, they mix ballads\, rhythm\, and storytelling into a melodic\, character-rich sound. Well-known Auckland duo King & Power add harmonic colour and groove\, Lucy Burrows brings fiery fiddle (this quartet are also the celebrated Auckland Céilí/ Cèilidh Band). Jess Brown supports on vocals\, and Menno Besseling anchors the rhythm.\n\nThe TIMES are the house band for the LIVE&LENS SESSIONS—a four-piece supergroup blending UK/European rock\, pop\, and glam. Born from unrealised projects. they are the LIVE & LENS house band\, and deliver a retro-infused show with AV delivering the visuals that’s neither covers nor tribute. A fresh take on live performance with seasoned players and cinematic flair.
